These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the ChoreCoach website, web app, and related services (collectively, the “Service”). The Service is operated by ChoreCoach LLC (“ChoreCoach”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service.

1. Eligibility and Accounts

1.1 Eligibility
The Service is intended to be used by adults (parents, legal guardians, or caregivers). Children may use the Service only under the supervision of an adult account holder. You represent and warrant that you are of legal age to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction or are using the Service with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian.

1.2 Account registration
To use certain features of the Service, you may need to create an account and provide accurate, current, and complete information. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account.

1.3 Account responsibility
You agree to notify us immediately at support@chorecoach.com if you suspect any unauthorized access to or use of your account. We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to protect your account credentials.

2. Use of the Service

2.1 License to use
Subject to these Terms, ChoreCoach grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for your personal, non-commercial use (or for your household’s internal use).

2.2 Prohibited uses
You agree not to:

Use the Service for any unlawful, harmful, or fraudulent purpose

Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or other users’ accounts

Interfere with or disrupt the operation of the Service or servers

Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive the source code of the Service (except where permitted by law)

Use the Service to harass, threaten, or harm others

Circumvent or attempt to circumvent any security or usage limits

We reserve the right to investigate violations and take appropriate action, including terminating accounts.

3. User Content

3.1 Your content
You may create or upload content through the Service, including routines, tasks, rewards, notes, or other information (“User Content”). You retain ownership of your User Content.

3.2 License to ChoreCoach
By submitting or creating User Content on or through the Service, you grant ChoreCoach a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, display, process, and use your User Content solely for the purpose of operating, improving, and providing the Service to you and other users.

3.3 Your responsibilities
You are responsible for your User Content and for ensuring it does not:

Violate any law or regulation

Infringe or misappropriate any third-party rights

Contain harmful, abusive, or inappropriate material

We may remove User Content that we reasonably believe violates these Terms or applicable law.

4. Subscriptions, Payments, and Trials (if applicable)

If we offer paid plans, subscriptions, or trials, the following apply:

4.1 Pricing and billing
Prices, billing cycles, and payment methods will be described within the Service or on our website. By starting a paid plan or subscription, you authorize us (or our payment processor) to charge the applicable fees to your chosen payment method.

4.2 Renewals and cancellations
Unless otherwise stated, subscriptions will automatically renew at the end of each billing period. You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or as instructed in the Service. Cancellation will take effect at the end of the current billing period.

4.3 Refunds
Except where required by law or expressly stated otherwise, fees are non-refundable. We may, at our sole discretion, offer refunds or credits on a case-by-case basis; such decisions do not create an obligation to provide future refunds.

5. Intellectual Property

5.1 Ownership
The Service, including all software, designs, text, graphics, logos, icons, images, and other content (excluding User Content), is owned by or licensed to ChoreCoach LLC and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws.

5.2 No transfer of rights
Nothing in these Terms transfers any ownership rights in the Service or our intellectual property to you. You receive only the limited license described in Section 2.1.

5.3 Trademarks
“ChoreCoach”, the ChoreCoach logo, and any related names and marks are trademarks of ChoreCoach LLC. You may not use our trademarks without our prior written permission, except to identify our Service in a truthful and non-misleading manner.

6. Third-Party Services and Logins

6.1 Third-party logins
The Service may allow you to sign in using third-party providers (such as Google). Your use of those services is governed by the terms and privacy policies of the third party, not by ChoreCoach.

6.2 Links to third-party sites
The Service may contain links to third-party websites or resources. We are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of those third parties and you access them at your own risk.

7. No Medical, Psychological, or Professional Advice

The content and features provided by ChoreCoach are for general informational and educational purposes only. They are not medical, psychological, therapeutic, or professional advice.

ChoreCoach does not provide diagnosis or treatment for any medical or mental health condition.

You should consult qualified professionals (such as pediatricians, child psychologists, or therapists) for any concerns about your child’s health, development, or behavior.

You are solely responsible for how you choose to use the Service in your family and with your child.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ChoreCoach disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to:

Implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement

Any warranties that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of harmful components

Any warranties regarding the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of any content

You use the Service at your own risk.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

ChoreCoach LLC and its owners, officers, employees, contractors, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenues, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Service.

Our total cumulative liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms will be limited to the greater of:
(a) the amount you paid to us for the Service in the three (3) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or
(b) USD $50.

Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations of liability for certain types of damages, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you. In those cases, our liability will be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

10. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless ChoreCoach LLC and its owners, officers, employees, contractors, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to:

Your use of the Service

Your User Content

Your violation of these Terms

Your violation of any law or third-party rights

11. Termination and Suspension

11.1 Your right to stop using the Service
You may stop using the Service at any time. You may also request deletion of your account by contacting us at support@chorecoach.com.

11.2 Our right to suspend or terminate
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, or any part of it, at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe that:

You have violated these Terms or applicable law

Your use may cause harm to us, to other users, or to the Service

We are required to do so by law or by a court/authority

Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. Certain provisions of these Terms will continue to apply even after termination, including Sections 3, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 13.

12. Changes to the Service and to These Terms

We may update or modify the Service over time, including adding or removing features.

We may also update these Terms from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. In some cases, we may provide additional notice (for example, by email or in-app notifications).

If you continue to use the Service after the updated Terms become effective, you are agreeing to the revised Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Service.

13. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms and your use of the Service are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws principles.

Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in King County, Washington, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts. You may also be entitled to bring certain claims in your local small claims court, where permitted by law.
